Jana Michel was born and raised in Houston, Texas and went on to play college softball while obtaining Accounting and MBA degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas. In 2011, she began working as a consultant in internal audit, risk and compliance for KPMG in Portland, Oregon. A couple years later, she relocated to Eugene for a more balanced family/work life and began working for a local firm doing audit, tax, and consulting. Jana was also a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Emerald Valley during her time in Eugene.
Jana has primarily been involved with audit, review, and compilation engagements for governments, non-profits, and private industry clients. She has experience in multiple industries including manufacturing, construction, professional services, forest products, and transportation. Jana is a licensed CPA in the state of Oregon and a Certified Internal Auditor through the Institute of Internal Auditors.
After the birth of her daughter in 2016, Jana and her wife decided to move to Bend to be closer to family and many of the activities they love. Jana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping, boating, snowboarding, and playing softball.
Jana is currently serving as the Board Treasurer for Boys and Girls Club of Bend.
